by the time you get this, you won’t still be asleep on the couch next to little katie. but the memory will still last every time i see that couch.

you both look so happy even though i know you’re going through a lot of pain right now. each time i open that cabinet and see your pills sitting there, it makes me wish i could be as good a brother as you—just taking one day at a time and smiling constantly; even when you’re in such discomfort.
